Recent Events

We had a great time at the Association's Skittles Evening in November at the bowling alley at the Constitutional Club. We also enjoyed a Ploughman's meal together. Thanks to the Constitutional Club for hosting us.

In December it was great to meet so many people at our mulled cider stand in front of the Town Hall at the Chudleigh Christmas Fayre. This annual event was a great way to raise funds for the Association and an opportunity to tell local people about our town twinning link with Troarn.

 EXCHANGE VISIT TO CHUDLEIGH 2024

Members of Chudleigh Twinning Association had a great time visiting Troarn over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend in 2023. We look forward to welcoming our French friends for a reciprocal weekend visit to Chudleigh in 2024.

Visitors from Troarn will arrive on the evening of Friday 12th April and will depart again on Monday 15th April.

Would you consider hosting a single person or couple in your home for the weekend?

If you’ve never participated before then it’s a great way to support the continuing relationship between Chudleigh and Troarn. You don't have to speak French to become a host or participate in the weekend but it is a useful opportunity to have a go if you want to. Many of our French friends look forward to practising their English language skills too.

The Association Committee are putting together a programme of events. Further details will be published nearer the time, however, the outline programme is as follows:-

Friday 12th April - guests will arrive at Chudleigh Town Hall at about 5.00pm and will spend the evening with hosts.

Saturday 13th April - day trip to Bicton Park Botanical Gardens near Budleigh Salterton. Evening reception and meal at Chudleigh Town Hall.

Sunday 14th April - free day to spend with your guests with an optional group activity in the afternoon. In the evening it is customary for small groups to get together for a meal.

Monday 15th April - our French friends will leave for their journey home from the Town Hall at about 8.15am.

Hosts will be asked to join the Association. The annual subscription is £10 for an individual or £15 for a family membership.
