Our social and fundraising events are open to everyone regardless of membership status. Unless otherwise stated there is no need to book in advance.

We will be visiting Troarn next year from Friday 2^nd - Monday 5^th May. This will be the May Day Bank Holiday weekend.

• We'll  be leaving just after 8am on the Friday and travel by coach to Portsmouth to take the afternoon ferry.
• We'll be collected by our host families at Caen-Ouistreham port on arrival.
• The weekend will be a mix of spending time with our host families and taking part in excursions plus other social events. The French always put on a fantastic programme for us!
• We will leave early on Monday morning and be collected by coach from Portsmouth early afternoon.
  

• Arrival back in Chudleigh will be early evening.

The cost for this year has been set as £150 per participant which will cover all travel and a small contribution to the French towards the expenses of the visit. There is no charge for accommodation, however, it is customary to give a small gift to the host family.  If you are thinking of participating and taking children with you then please get in touch as we have some scope to provide a substantial discount for children aged 15 or under.

If you’ve never participated before then it’s a great way to support the continuing relationship between Chudleigh and Troarn. You don't have to speak French to participate in the weekend but it is a useful opportunity to have a go if you want to. Many of our French friends look forward to practising their English language skills too. 

Participants will be asked to join the Association. The annual subscription is £10 for an individual or £15 for a family membership. Please note that group travel insurance will not be provided by the Association and it is the responsibility of each participant to assess their individual needs and consider whether or not to purchase an individual travel insurance policy.
